Attention, guys and gals, listen up because we're implementing a new rule for ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) thebacklot that will affect this week's secrets batch. I've been told by the big man in charge that an extreme amount of secrets made for a single individual by a single individual is no longer acceptable. The secrets have always been a place for variety and diversity rather than a place that is overpowered by secrets made for a one person. If you've submitted more than two secrets for a single person, please comment the submission post and tell me which two you'd prefer are posted. If I don't hear back from those of you who have submitted several secrets for one person, I'll pick two of them at random myself. We hate to put a limit on positive secrets, but we'd also like to keep thebacklot diverse and full of many different types of secrets! |

Here we go again! Double check the rules, if you need to and get to making those secrets.
Comments are screened and you may post anonymously. We do reserve the right to reject anything we find to be derogatory, threatening, or as an attack on children. We will also not tolerate repeated attacks against the members of this community. Extremely harsh personal attacks will be considered on a case-by-case basis. We would also like to remind our members that secrets were originally meant as confessions and were based off the idea presented by PostSecret. Submit text, submit graphics, but please make them no larger than 500x500 pixels and 350KB.
The post will go up on Saturday at around 9 PM PST. Deadline for secrets is 8:30 PM PST.

Secrets time! Anonymous is enabled this time around, but the comments will be screened first as a precaution. I'll do my best to get to unscreening them quickly, but I'm not perfect so I just ask that you're patient about it if I don't get to it right away.

I am a turbulent butterfly. Painted blue by a small child, the scales on my wings have gone out of tune. Like the broken strings of a harp are my antennae, jagged and curling. The wind cannot pluck them. They are attached to me, but make no music like harps once did. Like I once did.
I made music once in a dream, but it wasn't on harps. It was one the bones of my ancestors. They jangled in fetters like feathered wings, carrying the tunes of time and the wind and ages and I soared from birth to life upon that tune. I soared from lone to love within that tune. I carried you above that tune the night we loved the grass with our behinds and blankets kept us warm until we saw the sun climb up above the horizon, sweating and panting. It was sweating and panting and out of breath from the rough sex we were sure it was having with the moon. The smugness on its face left little to be imagined.
Like you, my love. You were little and I once carried you away from dragons that crept into closets and kept you awake. That time has past already, however, like time sometimes does.

I started writing that about two days ago. No, maybe it was three.
I have no idea what half of it is about. It's is about nothing.
Nothing and my daughter.

I don't really get into holidays. I hate my birthday, 4th of July is always hot, Easter has that whole religion thing to it, Christmas is really about your family but New Years Eve is supposed to be about two great things...getting loaded with the person you love. That is why weeks ago I called my girlfriend and said, "Baby, what do you want to do for New Years?" Why? Because I know this trick. If I made plans for New Years Eve it would have been the wrong thing and she would be upset with me. So she said, "mm I don't know, I have to think about it but if you want to go out with your friends, you should do that." This is another trick. If I had said ok I'll do what I want, she'd of had a fit that I didn't want to spend it with her, so I said, "You know what I will keep things open and you can tell me what you want to do." As New Years Eve began to approach I said again, "What do you want to do for New Years because I can book a flight and come out to see you." She then says, "Well I think I'll still be in Idaho and with my friends from there, you wouldn't have any fun." She says this like she's doing me a favor so again, I don't buy into it, I say, "Baby it doesn't matter what we do so long as we do it together." She tells me she'll think about it. Yesterday I break down and call her and go, "You never got back to me about New Years so if you're still out in Idaho, I can still get a last minute flight," to which she replies, "Oh! I decided to go back to L.A. and we're having a party out here but it was so last minute I didn't bother you with it."
That is about the time that my head sort of felt like popping off of my body. All day today I was still trying to make things better but finally I said, "You know I am just going to go to that Justice party and then the afterparty so I guess if you're not too busy with your friends and party I can call you at midnight your time." Last txt she sent me, "You know what...just call me tomorrow."
.................so now I'm not going to get a midnight kiss but I don't even get a phone call. So this is where you come in cause I am all for any of these ideas or if you want to leave another one in a comment, be my guest.
